Here is my Latest Crochet Projects info:

Big ghost, Mini Ghost, Mini Unicorn, Mini Sprite bottle,Cheese Burger, Mini Mario Bomb,  Mini Girl Turtle, Mini Corn.

All of these crochet items are lots of fun to make. They all have easy to fallow directions for all levels of crochet. Loved crocheting/making each and every one of them. Here are the crochet patterns, more info about all of the crochet patterns, and more pic.’s of the crocheted items.

The Bigger Ghost and The Mini Ghost:

The bigger ghost came out a little bigger then the original pattern and I used smaller safety eyes then the pattern suggested. The pattern is a free crochet pattern designed by Hookabee.

You can down load your free copy of the pattern on Hookabee’s website in the free pattern section.

Here is the link to her site:

Hookabee Patterns

She also has a good podcast on YouTube you can find it just by typing Hookabee in the search section. She also has other free and payed for crochet patterns for other cute amigurumi’s on here website.

I decided that I wanted a smaller ghost so I used hookabee’s pattern as a reference and made it into a smaller scale and out popped out a mini ghost.

The yarn That I used for the bigger ghost and mini ghost is:

The yarn I used was paintbox cotton DK yarn. In the colors yellow-green for the bigger green Ghost and Mustered Yellow for the mini  Ghost. For the eyes I used black 7.5mm safety eyes for the bigger ghost and black 6mm safety eyes for the mini ghost. Both ghost eyes were from 6060 eyes, crocheted with a furls crochet odsey hook in size D, stuffed with polly-fill stuffing, and cotton floss in black for their lips.

Here is some pic.’s of the bigger and mini ghost:

The mini burger and mini sprite bottle:

For the mini burger and mini sprite bottle their patterns are both made by Amigurumi food. The mini burger is a free pattern that can be found on Amigurumi food’s web site under the free patterns section .

Here is a link where you can find the mini burger’s  pattern:

The mini sprite bottle can be found in Amigurumi food’s Etsy store it is $5.00 and has another way to make the sprite bottle into a coke a cola bottle as well a chicken burger pattern and french fry’s pattern. It is worth buying the pattern that you can then down load onto you computer. It has directions that are good for first time amigurumi crocheter’s as well as if you have made a lot of amigurumi’s. Lots of good pic’s. Very good directions and you get 3 patterns that are all very fun looking to make as well as different choice’s of the color of yarn for the soda flavor that you want to make. You can go to the Amigurumi food’s Etsy store by going to her web page and by clicking the Etsy circle on her page it is orange with a white E inside it.

Here is her web page:

She has lots of other fun crochet patterns to buy and for free. Like in my blogs and podcast’s before this I have crocheted a few other items off of Amigurumi food’s web site that were lots of fun. As well as I will be crocheting some more of her items. Love all of her crochet patterns/ items.

The yarn for the mini burger that I used was:

PaintBox cotton Dk. In the shades yellow-green for the light green color, for the red color it was called pillar red, for the light brown color in light carmeled , paper white, coffee brown, and mustard yellow.  For the burgers face it was done in black cotton floss for the lips, 6mm safety eyes from 6060 eyes, pink cotton floss for the cheeks, white cotton floss for the seeds on the bun. Stuffed with polly-fill stuffing for only the bun being stuffed. Crochet hook odesy hook made by furls crochet in size D.  I do plan on putting a string down the middle of the mini burger , that way all the peace’s stay together, and  that way I can hang it up some place.

For the Mini soda bottle the yarn that was used is:

Paintbox Yarn in their cotton DK yarn. In the yarn colors paper white, mustard yellow, grass-green, and evergreen for the darn green color. Stuffed with polly-fill stuffing. The straw part is on stuffed  and just has a stitch in it, so that way it stayed bent, you could add a pipe cleaner or wire in it to make it even more bendy if you want that kind of effect for the straw. For the face it was black 6mm eyes from 6060 eyes , cotton floss in lime green for the cheeks and black for the lips. Crochet hook size D furls crochet odesy hook.

The mini corn:

The mini corn was made with a Twinki Chan pattern that was linked to a video of her making the corn together with you in one of her payed for video classes. The web site that her payed for video was on is $4.99 a month they had a few other payment options that made it less money to get but I picked the monthly one. You get the first 14 days free. The class area that the pattern is found on has other videos and pattern you can watch as well as a few other Twinki Chan patterns and videos. Each video that you get, has the video, a pdf  of the pattern, and lots of info on how to make the items. It is great for any stage of crochet that you are at and is easy to fallow/understand as well as really fun to make and fallow along  together with someone. It really is like you are crocheting together with someone. Loved this pattern and video.

Here is the link off of the Twinki Chan sight:

In the blog section titled about corn. Click the blog area and the link will be inside of the blog that is about corn.

I love all of her items and will be crocheting/making more of her items. She also has a link to her etsy store on her web page and YouTube channel where you can buy her paid for crochet/knitting patterns Pdf’s.

The yarn that I used for the corn is:

Paintbox yarn cotton DK. In the colors forest green and mustard yellow. For the stuffing I used polly-fill stuffing. I didn’t make a face on it, but the next time I make one a face will be happening on it. I used furls crochet’s oddesy hook in size D.

My monthly Darn good yarns Yarn on boxing/unboxing/yarn in the box sub. Past months sub./boxes an current ones. Reviews/ YouTube videos.

I am writing this blog today about my monthly yarn in the box/sub. to darn good yarn. I have been getting the monthly yarn in the box/sub. since April 2017. So far the yarn in the monthly yarn sub./box has been working out really good I love each an every months yarn surprise an goodie’s so far.

For those that haven’t seen my videos or other posts/blogs about the monthly yarn sub/box from darn good yarn that I get. Let me tell you what a monthly yarn sub/box is. It is a once a month yarn sub. that has one skein/hank of yarn in it, in a surprise color /type of yarn that you get w/a suprise goodie. As well as a pattern for knit and crochet. You also will sometimes get discounts towards the type of yarn that you get. It gets delivered in the mail to your house every month unless you signed up for the 1 time yarn sub./box. The first yarn box/sub. is sent out right away to you after that the yarn sub/box will renew on the 1st of every month an then will be sent out to you around the 20th of every month. More info about the monthly yarn box/sub for darn good yarn can be found on their web site @ https://www.darngoodyarn.com/collections/subscriptions .

Lets start off with showing you what I got in my yarn in my monthly yarn sub/box for the month of August 2017. It was a very pretty greenish color. That was the DK weight Herbal Dyed Recycled silk yarn. I loved the yarn it was so soft an very pretty even smelled good like tea. It also came w/cookie cutters. Love the cute shapes that the cookie cutters are an I love making cookies. It will be fun to make some yummy cookies w/my son an use the very nice cookie cutters  together. It also had a pattern for knitting an crocheting. Loved the pattern can’t say what it was due to it being part of the box/sub.

I Finished My latest Crochet Project. A mini polar bear an mini ice cream in a cup w/a cherry on top…

I finely finished crocheting a mini polar bear and mini ice cream in a cup w/a cherry on top. It was a lot of fun to crochet these items. I will have a lot more crochet items to show off in a couple of days .

aug282017 5

aug282017 7

aug282017 9

aug282017 3aug282017 1

I loved how easy the patterns were for both items. Here is where u can get the patterns to crochet them.

The polar bear:

The mini ice cream in a cup w/a cherry on top:

The yarn that I used for this project was:

Paint box yarns in their cotton DK,

Yarn and colors must have all/minis in their cotton fingering weight.

You can get the paintbox yarns @ https://www.lovecrochet.com/us/paintbox-yarns

You can get the yarn and colors must have all colors / the must have minis yarns @ http://www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/yarn/yarn-and-colors-must-have-all-colours

Those are 2 of my fav. cotton yarn brands due to the rainbow choice of colors, softness of the yarn, and weight of the yarn. Paint box yarns DK is a light DK yarn weight not supper heavy an the yarn and colors yarn is a fingering/sport weight yarn but looks so shiny and pretty . Love the sizes of the yarn balls for both yarn brands especially the must have minis in the yarn and colors brand . The other good thing about both brands is the price isn’t that bad as well as the shipping to the us.

Paintbox yarns in rose red, pansy purple, banana cream all 3 are their cotton Dk yarn weight.

Yarn and colors must have all colors in purple bordeaux in their cotton fingering/sport yarn weight.

The cool  safety eyes that you will be seeing on all of my ami/amigurumi crochet items are from 6060 eyes. There web site is http://6060eyes.com . Yes you can buy safty eyes from amazon I have done that before but the risk is getting chipped/broken eyes , eyes that are not what they look like in the pic. and some other issues that the 6060 eye web site goes over. They are one of the best safty eye people to buy from due to their prices, custom hand painted eyes, all sorts of different eyes you can get from them, fast shipping, you get what you see in the pic. , and shipping price is better than most. Go check them out if you need safety eyes for you cute ami/amigurumi items.

Happy crocheting. Wright more soon.

D.I.Y. Project How To Make a Mini Blocking Board In Less Then 10 Min. Written Directions & YouTube Video Link.

Hello I finally made the video for D.I.Y. project how to make a mini blocking board for all of your crocheted/knitted small projects. ex. granny squares, hexagons, triangles, or any small yarn art project that doesn’t need a big blocking board to be blocked out on.

First let me tell you about why you would want to block out a yarn art project. The reason that you would want to block out your yarn art project is if it needs to be stretched out to the correct size, to make all of the crocheted/knitted pieces to be the same size, the knitted/crocheted piece got all bunched up some how , or doesn’t look the correct size to you. You then would want to block out the crocheted/knitted yarn project so it can be stretched out to the way that you would want it to look. That way you end up with a finished crocheted/knitted piece that looks the correct size/shape.

You can make a mini blocking board in less than 10 min. together with me on my video that is on YouTube by clicking on the link below or keep reading this blog. The written supply list & directions are here.

The supply’s that you will need to have on hand for the mini blocking board project are:

1)  1 Mini foam piece in the size that you would like for your project. (ex. rectangle mini size. )

2)  4 Wooden sticks that are the length that you need for your project.
(ex. wooden skew’s for kabob’s )

3) Tape

4) Scissors

5) A pen or Ruler

6) Spray bottle or you can pre-soak your yarn project in a bowel of warm/room temp water for 20 min. Then take the yarn project out of the water and ring it out gently , wrap in a towel an lightly pat it dry. You still want your project to be damp not dripping wet ,if you would rather use this way over the spray bottle way to block the yarn project out.

7) Opt. Some kind of glue if you would like to make the sticks more stable.

You can get everything that you need for this project @ most craft stores as well as wall-mart, target, an other retail stores in your area.

Here is the Pic. of all the supply’s need for the project. (Don’t forget the scissors not in the pic.)

The Directions for the D.I.Y. mini blocking board project:

Step # 1 :

First you take your crochet/knitted project stretch/pat it down onto where it fits best on the foam piece. Then you take your pen poke it into each corner/ (or measure it out w/a ruler an mark it where each corner is.)

Placing the crocheted/knitted piece on the foam piece. ( In the pic. up top. )

Marking each corner w/the pen. ( Like in the pic up top. )

Step # 2 :

Take the tape and cut out 4 pieces of tape. Then wrap the tape piece around the top/none point part of each stick/skew or all the way down making sure that the point of the stick/skew is not taped. As well as no sticky part of the tape sticking out. That way the tape doesn’t stick to you project and the sticks/skews don’t get slivers of wood on your yarn project

Take the tape piece wrap it around the top/none point part of the stick/skew. (Like the pic. up top.)(or all the way down leaving the point part out.)

Step # 3 :

Take each one of the wooden sticks/skews after you tape the top/whole stick poke it into each of the marked corner spots that you made on the foam piece.

Mark the corner spots on the foam piece. ( Like the pic up top. )

This pic. up top is how the foam piece should look w/all 4 wooden stick/skews in it.

( step# 4  opt.) If you feel that the wooden sticks/skews are moving too much or are not stacking a bunch of knitted/crocheted peace on top of each other or feel the wooden sticks/skews are moving around too much. You can then take some glue put a small dot of glue on each wooden stick/skew (or each marked hole)  place the stick back into the hole that you just made on the foam mat. Let the glue dry before placing any yarn projects onto the sticks. That way no glue gets on your yarn project.

You can apply the glue on to each hole like the pic. up top shows or on to each stick. Then put each stick back into the hole a let it dry.

Step #  5 :

Take the knitted/crocheted yarn art project that you are blocking out put each wooden stick/skew into the corners of the yarn project. Then lightly spray the yarn project with water.(unless you did the Pre-soak directions up top in the list of supply’s section under supply # 6 . ) If you are blocking more than one item (ex. squares, triangles, hexagons ) you can stack it on top of the yarn art that you just sprayed w/water. Then lightly spray it w/water.

Take the crochet/knitted project put each wooden stick/skew in each corned of the yarn project. ( Like the pic. up top. )

Push the crocheted/knitted project all the way down. ( Like the pic. up top. )

Lightly spray each piece. ( unless you used the pre-soak method directions up top in the supply list under supply # 6 . )

If you’re blocking more than one knitted/crochet piece at a time you can then stack the next piece on top an spray it with water.

step # 6

Take your blocking board put it some place that it will not be disturbed while it is drying. Sometimes it will take a few hours to dry other times 24 hours to dry. Most knitted/crochet projects will be completely dry in 24 hours or less. You will want it completely dry before taking the project off of the wooden sticks/skews . Once dried it is all done being blocked an should look very nice once you take it off of the wooden sticks/skews.

The finished blocked out project/projects should look very nice an the shape/size that you wanted it to be. Like the blocked out piece that is in the pic. down blow does.13

Thanks for reading this D.I.Y. project making a mini blocking board in less than 10 min.  I hope that you enjoy making this fun D.I.Y. project. As well as enjoy how you finished crocheted/knitted yarn art pieces look all blocked out.

Thank you, Heather @ Painted World Fiber Arts.

My Thoughts On My Latest Finished Crochet Project….

Recently I finished my crochet project that was 2 heart shaped cactus’s inside tea cups. I love cactus’s / tea cups, so this project was so much fun for me to crochet/make. I wrote more about making this project as well as my thought on the project on the love crochet sight. If you would like to make a heart shape cactus inside of a teacup the crochet pattern is found on love crochet page that I wrote about my thoughts on the project. The page is found on the link down below.

If you choose to make one for your self I hope that you have fun doing so. If you would like one crocheted by me they will be for sale in my store that should be open in a couple months if all goes well.

Crochet Hooks

Hello everyone today’s post is about finding the right crochet hook.
I love crocheting for hours an hours on end. I also hurt my wrist about 2 years ago. The injury will act up from time to time causing my wrist to hurt so bad that it is hard to crochet and grip things.  As my wrist started hurting more and more I began looking into better crochet hooks then the hooks like the boye hooks that i started crocheting with.

I did a online search for crochet hooks with rubber grips on them. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on the hooks @ the time, also I like finding things that do not cost a lot but work out nice. I found a pack of crochet hooks on amazon that had the rubber grips i was looking for on them. I ordered them. They were in rainbow colors I loved that as well as they felt nice, griped nice, an were light weight.

I ended up using the pretty rainbow rubber grip hooks for 2 years. I enjoyed useing them they helped my wrist feel some what better but my wrist still had flar ups. As the time went buy as I was useing the rainbow rubber crochet hooks i thought to my self  it would be nice to get a wooden crochet hook maybe that would help my wrist have less issues when i crochet. I did a internet search for wooden crochet hooks an found the furls crochet hooks web site . I was like wow it would be nice to own a hand made crochet hook but the price isn”t going to work out now. i ended up saving that area on the site for later. When I was on the furls site there was a couple other cheeper crochet hook options that I was looking @ it was there odessy hook and candy shop hook. I  thought to my self this is going to be my gift to my self. I then waited 6 months later when it was my birthday and furls had a sale going on. I first got one candy shop hook. img_8385-1

The candy shop hook I fell in love with right away. It was so light weight, Fit nice in my small hands, It helped me be a faster crocheter. As well as it helped make my wrist not flare up as often. Not to mention the candy shop hooks come in rainbow colors that is such a cool thing. The furls crochet hooks were so worth the extra money to buy. I ended up buying a couple more of the hooks as well as trying out the furls odessy hooks.

I loved using the furls odessey hook just as much as the candy shop hook. The thing that was different with the odessy hook was the yarn glided off the hook really fast due to the weight of the hook being in the back. It ended up making where I could crochet faster then ever before as well as improving the flare ups of my wrist injury. Currently my wrist hardly ever flare’s up due to crocheting any more. I have realized how it is sometimes worth putting extra money into things that I love to make my life some what better. That way I live with less pain. I will keep collecting the furls crochet hooks. I will say the only issue that I had with the furls crochet hooks is that the candy shop hooks can break easy. One day i was crocheting a project an i ended up breaking the tip of the crochet hook off of 2 of my candy shop hooks.

When I broke both of the candy shop hooks I wrote a email to furls about it. They sent me 2 new candy shop crochet hooks free of cost right away. I was so happy that they really lived up to there life time warranty on there hooks. I learned that the candy shop hooks on the smaller hook sizes can break easy. That is the reason I ended up starting to buy the smaller sized hooks in the furls odessey so I don’t have to worry about the hooks having issues with the yarn I use with them as well as the size of hook issue. Other then that the furls crochet hooks i highly recommend  everyone that is serious about crochet to invest in hook that will save there hands/wrists as well as make it so they can crochet faster/smoother an make there crochet pretties look even betters. You can get the furls hooks @ furlscrochet.com.

Chiffon sari silk ribbon yarn an market tote kit review.

Hello. A few days ago i mentioned how i got some new yarn from Darn Good Yarn. It was there chiffon sari silk ribbon yarn that looks like the yarn in the pic. Below.

First let me tell you a little about Darn Good Yarn. They are a yarn company that is from NY. They specialise in yarn that is made from   Silk waste /sari silk waste. The yarn is then put together by lady’s from india /Nepal and sent out to Darn Good Yarn costumers. Creating jobs for lady’s in india/Nepal area that are far waged. I love darn good yarn so much an business’s like them. The reason is they have such a positive out look on creating different kinds of yarn like no other from around the world. Not to mention the owner loves yarn just as much as other yarn lover out there. If you want to learn more about them you can look that up on there web site http://www.darngoodyarn.com.

Let me tell you about what sari silk chiffon yarn is. It is made from the silk waste that sari silk has. The works take the silk that is left over from making the sari’s an cut it to size an then sow it together an creat yarn with it.

Anyways i got the pile of pretty chiffon sari yarn pic up top. As well as the fire cracker yarn review about that yarn once i use it. I also have some other chiffon sari silk yarn from Darn good yarn as well a few weeks ago i got there market tote kit w/the chiffon sari silk yarn in water colors. The market tote kit is what I will be writing to you about today.

I got the market tote kit a few weeks ago put it aside an was like i will get around to making this soon. When i first got the package in the mail that the kit was in  i opened it up took a look @ the pretty yarn in the pic. Below an was like yes rainbow yarn i love rainbows on yarn.

Let me tell you a little about the market tote kit. It comes with 3 or 4 hanks of sari chiffon silk yarn depending on if you pick the reg chiffon colors or silk colors depends how many hanks you get due to the silk one being bigger u get 3 in place of 4. I picked the watercolor silk one so i got 3 hanks in my kit. You get directions eathier in knit or crochet for the tote printed out for you as well. You can buy one of the market totes @ http://www.darngoodyarn.com under kits.

When I got my kit i couldn’t wait to start playing with the yarn an making the project. I winded up one of the yarn hanks  into a ball as I was winding it up oh know it broke an ended up being one big ball an one little ball no worries. Still very pretty an so soft to touch.

I then took out my furls odyssey hook in size L 7.0 and in the recommended sized hook for the pattern that is K 6.5 that is my furls candy shop hook. You can get those hooks @ http://www.furlscrochet.com

I decided to use the recommended hook k 6.5, feeling that it was was is best for this project but if you want a bigger bag use the L 7.0 hook or bigger.

I started crocheting up the bottom of the bag an it looks good so far.

The pattern is so easy to fallow. The yarn is so much fun to crochet up. I love how different the yarn is making the bag look with little peace”s  of silk fabric sticking out. Sence sari silk chiffon yarn is similar to t-shirt yarn just made with sari silk in place of t-shirts it makes a very pretty tote so far. I love the recycled sari silk chiffon yarn due to how each hank has its own look to it, speediness of it due to using a large crochet hook, an over all the fun a differentness it brings compared to the normal everyday yarn. I will be buying chiffon sari silk yarn again. Some of my plans for things to make with the other hanks of chiffon sari silk yarn that I have are a scarf, hair band, pouch and rug. I will show those projects off as they happen.

Over all the chiffon sari silk yarn market tote kits has been fun to make so far.  I should be done with the tote shortly an will show you how it comes out. The only bad thing with the chiffon sari silk yarn in the water colors is the yarn dye printed off on my hands and was hard to wash off.

I heard you should pre wash the yarn and heat set it so the dye doesn’t get on you. I will try that next time. Other then the dye issue no complaints.

Thank you for reading my review on the market tote made with chiffon sari silk yarn in color water colors. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. I will be writing  more soon.
